Tsunderes worry me sometimes. Granted, my examples of romance-involving-tsunderes is limited to a genre, but how do they work??

I like tsunderes that get their “just desserts” for their actions.  As in, people don’t treat them like royalty and dismiss all their actions as being “misunderstood” or “cute” (that’s problematic, intention is not as powerful as the consequence).

And their “dere” moments have to seem genuine, not forced….and not too often that they seem out of character.

Siggghh, this is a troubling trope for me too since I say I like them, yet newer-anime tsunderes kinda just piss me off idk.

That is a troubling troupe, but then there are those that push said tsundere until they break and I don’t like that either (since, yeah sure, violent tsundere are basically abusive but so is a love interest who flat-out bullies said tsundere into emotional confusion), and when they don’t break it’s just worse, since it’s unhealthy, so the quicker a tsundere sorts out their feelings the better I feel, especially if it’s a natural progress of their character for them to finally just get /comfortable/ with whatever route they’re looking to go down.

…I just don’t want to sit here for 8 volumes in tears because the tsundere is still resisting between heart and head, and also stringing the love interest along, with said interest notfuckinghelping their relationship. *though that’s not the series I was thinking of when I made the post*
